2000 civic si - leaking oil from the head gasket
Hi i have a 2000 civic si and recently had to do a swap due to a connecting rod busting. i replaced the block with a b16a and replaced the valves, pressure tested and resurfaced the head from the original engine. i put it all together and the damn thing is leaking oil quick fast from the head gasket. do i need a different head gasket with that block? any information will be greatly appreciated. i just want to get my car back on the streets!

Re: 2000 civic si problems
Did you reuse your old head, or is this a new one on your old block?
It should work, but why the leaks? Possible that the head is warped?
was it checked prior to installing?

yes its the original head. it was resurfaced pressure tested andwhat not. the old block is trached with two holes the number four pistons vlaves needed to be replaced because they were bent.

no it was not and its purging oil from around cylinder 4. When we turn it over it loses half a quart to a full quart in less than 15 seconds.

Is oil leaking out of the engine, or internally?
