So i have a 2000 civic si and I wanna do an engine swap and boost it, I was thinking along the lines of a b18c just the gsr but what about a b18c5? Is it a very good choice for a boost? If you have any ideas or anything that could help thatd be awesome thanks. Also if I did a swap would i wanna keep my si tranny or get an s80? I definitely want lsd, btw money isnt really an issue.

Ok. If you really want to swap you should sell yours and buy an LS motor, then build it for boost. You will be able to sell yours then buy turbo stuff and an LS. If i were you, I would make yours an NA monster all bolt ons, cams, tune...im new to this...but dont boost a type r motor, so expensive, waste of such a sweet motor, and the compression is way high...i would however build an all motor type r...if money is no object that would be sick.

Why would swap when just build your b16a2 to displacement of 1.8L with low compression pistons and boost it.

Yeah, if you are going for boost, there isn't really any reason to change motors. Unless you want like 600+ hp.

dunno if i'd recommend trying to make the b16 a 1.8l

http://www.honda-/acura.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=53507

i'd leave it a 1.6 and put money into good parts so you can throw lots of boost at it, or i would, as the op is leaning towards doing, a swap to a motor that's already a 1.8l to start.

edit: for some stupid reason it keeps removing the honda acura chunk of the link above so i had to add a forward slash between the honda and acura so that it wouldn't replace half the link with asterisks. wtf
