2000 civic si cooling system problem... Help!!
Hello my name is Jordan, I own a 2000 Honda civic si and the car has been recently running hot. Although the car has not overheated the car ran hot the first time because of a leak which I fixed. the car is now running hot again and me and my brother have noticed the cooling fan isn't kicking in when it should. so I alligator clipped the fan to the battery and it runs as it should, I rreplaced the cooling fan switch on the thermostat, the relay is fine, the fuse is not blown. Yet the fan has still not kicked on when its at operating temperature and the car will result in running hot. I took my car to my local shop and he said that he thinks the head gasket is bad? if the headgasket is bad why would my fan still not kick on??? also my car has no oil in the antifreeze and it does not seem to blow white smoke , also has no antifreeze and I am not losing antifreeze. if my headgasket is bad that is fixable but I was curious does anyone know whats wrong with this fan situation??? it seems like something is not telling it to kick on.... please help!!!!!! Ps: Also I think there is air in the system which I will bleed because I hear bubbling under the dash and Im almost positive the radiator is working because it doesn't usually run hot immediately

Yes, short the terminals for the fan switch.
If the fan turns on, the electrical circuit is fine.
Bleed the system of air. Trapped bubbles prevents the thermostat and/or thermoswitch to work properly.

Sometimes a bad radiator cap can cause the system to bubble into the overflow. If three cap does not keep the system pressurized properly then it can run hotter.
Try a new cap as well
