Having no amber reflector in either side headlight is against some laws. You can find out exactly which headlights are recalled here.

lol damn there are alot of them. It seems there are 4 recalls for 2000 civic headlights from 4 diff mfg. The ones I have dont have amber reflectors either, but that doesnt matter because I am about to change them since they are the shitty black housing ones and I hate them.

password jdm used to sell the wiring kit for city lights.
I had these in my civic and I never had issues with tickets or hassles from the police. I used an amber bulb for the turns, and the color was good enough to pass inspection and not draw attention. The bulb for the city lights is a 1157 if I recall correctly.

yea Idk I have aftermarket Depo ones on my baby right now, my daily has some black housing **** that came on the car when I bought it. I'm going to swap them since I partially crashed the front end of my race car so I'm going to do a 2000 front end conversion and swap my 97 DEPOs onto the daily.

Usually those are hooked up to the park lights, but it seems useless because when the lights are on, you will hardly see it

They aren't bright at ALL. City lights in Japan are what we in America call daytime running lights. They will do absolutely nothing to illuminate the road in front of you. Their entire purpose is to make your car more noticeable to other drivers during the day.

I'd go to the junkyard and get some pigtails for the size bulb that fits the hole
and just wire them up to whatever other light you want on with it....like your fogs or parking lights....but just an idea.

Re: 2000 Civic Si City light Slot headlights
Here is the wiring explanation for the city lights. I got this from a friend of Mine.
The only thing you need is the lights and plugs that fit into the slot. It's pretty simple and easy. This is the way I wired mine when I had my civic.
Your corner has three wires:
Red: 12v + Switched (marker)
Black: 12v - Constant (ground)
Green: 12v + Intermittent (signal)
You pull the red out of the corner so it will only flash one filament in the 1157 bulb (signal). If you are so inclined to have BRIGHT signals, you can feed another wire from the green to where the red used to be. That way, when you signal, both filaments will light.
To your city light you will be feeding the 12v + red wire from the corner, and quiksplice or t-tapping the black wire to the 12v - black wire on the corner. This will make your city lights come on with the parking lights and stay on with the headlights -- as they were designed to do.

Yes you will. The law requires your HEADLIGHTS to be on. City lights are not headlights. They are daytime running lights. Stupid **** like this is the reason there's such a negative stigma around people who modify cars. Stop trying to find legal loopholes - they are not a legal alternative to head lights.

DO NOT think it's acceptable to drive your car at night without your headlights on.
