2000 Civic SE - Auto transmission help
I found that my trans pan is leaking and wanted to do a trans drain, refill, pan gasket and filter...Had a few questions.
I was told two quarts is more than enough for the atf...Is that true?
Another thing I was told was the ONLY Genuine HONDA atf can be used.
I wanted to upgrade to a synthetic like redline or similar.
Any help would be appreciated. =]

Your transmission doesn't have a pan or a replaceable filter. Honda ATF is strongly recommended, the older Z1 stuff has been discontinued by Honda (although your dealership may still have some on hand) the new stuff is synthetic.

Hmm...ok, Well where would it be leaking from then ?
And do I have to get the honda atf from a honda dealership or will autozone, advance sell it ?

Axle seal, input shaft seal or the seam between the 2 halves on the transmission case most likely, you'll have to get under the car and see for sure just whats leaking.
If you want Honda fluid you'll have to get it from your local dealership, get new crush washers for the drain and fill plugs while you're there.
