2000 Civic no start, has spark no fuel. recently swapped d16y7 for y8
I posted something similar on here about a week ago and got some help for about a day then nobody noticed anymore. now that i have a little more idea of what info is now relevant ill just try again.
2000 civic cranks wont fire, has spark, fuel pump does not come on but does run when jumped, injectors do not open according to led injector tester. the shift lock solenoid does not release with the brake pedal and it did just before the motor came out so im assuming thats related to some of these electronic problems too.
down in the passenger footwell there is an extra plug on the vehicle side of the harness, it will plug into the A position on the computer but the engine harness has a plug there that is being used on the computers A position... maybe thats where the problem is and maybe i need to splice some of those wires together but i just dont know what ones where.
on the drivers side by the shock tower there is a gray plug from the engine harness that has nowhere to plug into... maybe some wires need splicing there i just dont know.
ive got this set to email me when someone posts so if i need to give more info i can and will asap.

I know your probably frustrated but I been looking into doing the same swap..I wish you the best of luck with your issues and would also like to see an answer as well in case I run into a similar issue..how much total dos you spend on your swap?! And is it a simple drop and go or is engine bay mods needed? Sry I'm a noob to the Honda scene. I'm just trying to squeeze a little more power out of my 99 hatch

swapping went way too easy, shoulda known something wouldnt work. i swapped the engine and trans together so just dropped everything out of the bottom. if i were doing it without a lift it would have been much more of a hassle but still just a one day job.

Loose wire somewhere that finally got wriggled just enough. Still have issues but ill make a new thread so it's more accurate

You mentioned an extra plug down near the ECU. This suggests to me that you have removed a '99-00 Civic DX (D16Y7) engine and harness and installed a '96-98 EX (D16Y8) engine and harness. The engine harnesses are NOT interchangeable. You must use the '00 "Y7" engine harness that came out of your car and modify it to fit your "Y8" engine. This means that you will be moving the MAP/TPS/IACV plugs, and this may require some lengthening as well as adding your VTEC solenoid and pressure switch wiring.
This should fix you right up. Good luck.

Here's a link to his other thread and that being said I know you are frustrated but its better not to make multiple threads for the same issue as it gets confusing.
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/2000-civic-no-power-fuel-pump-just-swapped-y7-y8-computer-harness-3131334/
Sounds like one of two things, like the above poster said you may have gotten an engine and harness from a 96-98 engine (your other thread they were from a 2000) said hence the extra plug OR you got an engine and ecu from a 5 speed model and the Auto ECUs have 4 plugs instead of 3 hence the extra plug. Post a picture of the plugs at the ECU, the ECU itself, and take some pictures of the engine especially right by the thermostat housing/VTEC solenoid area and intake manifold to verify its a 99-00 engine. Or you can take a picture above the header and show the date stamp like so:
