2000 Civic - misfiring and bogging after hurricane
during the hurricane i noticed that water had made its way into my engine making it wet. The distribotor was alittle wet and the car took 10mins to start and when it started it ran ruff and skipped a few times so i brung it home opened the hood and cleaned the distribotor with some wet wire and i let the car sit for a hour drove it and it ran perfect.Well it ran perfect for a week and the last 2 days it ran like crap for the first 10-15mins(skipping,bogging down)then it runs perfect. So today i took off the distribotor cap to take a look put it back on after i noticed nothing looked wrong or wet. Then the car took me 10mins to start and i had to let it run for 10-15mins seemed like it got flooded with fuel because it was stalling when i gave it gas.Now the car is running good again.... Do i need a new distribotor or cap and rotor? no check engine lights and its getting plently of gas please let me know what you guys think and if you have any question for me to answer thanks for your help

Re: 2000 Honda Civic Problem
Get your battery tested at like Autozone. If good, check ALL of your battery/starter/alternator wiring.
Check base timing.
Rotor tip would have rust on it if got wet.
Good luck.

Re: 2000 Honda Civic Problem
rotor tip had alittle rust on it but wasn't anything crazy and the battery is less then 6 months old.I will check the wiring to the alt and starter tomorrow. I wouldn't think those are the problem though. Can a dizzy get wet and still be ok after it drys out? Seems to me its dry now and the rust on the rotor was so little it pretty much brushed off with a rag it was more like surface rust that just started

How do you know it's misfiring?
Another thing to check is the plug wire boots. See if there's moisture inbetween the plug/dizzy and wire socket. If so, place some of that boot grease inbetween.
