2000 Civic LX Won't Crank
Hey guys came here in some need of some serious help. Having some problems with my 2000 Civic LX 5 Speed that is bone stock and it currently will not start. I go to turn the key and nothing will happen. Its like trying to start a car with a completely dead battery. I just replaced the battery last week and the starter was replaced in August. It starts off a cold start when it has sat for a while but not after I had it running prior.
This vid is from this afternoon.

it starts cold?
Id resolder the main relay...search on here, theres a detailed write up. Or just go pick one up...they are usually around $40

Starts cold as in I left it sit for a few hours and such. Would the relay not clicking at all and the cel not coming on be a sign of a bad ecu possibly?
thanks for the response. I looked at the main relay and couldn't tell what was a "dry" joint to attempt to solder it

I didnt notice lack of CEL. however, your vid starts like midway....the CEL should only come on for 2 secs when you first turn the key.
if you got a soldering iron....go outside yank the main relay and try that first...i mean unless you got a spare ecu lying around.

That, or just wait til Ron/motegi/98dx/etc etc replies.... Im just guessing here. I know the Main relay only starts when cold...and its free to resolder em, so thats where Id personally start.

Re: 2000 Civic LX Won't Crank
Ok so the reason the CEL wasn't on was because the fuse under the hood was blown. So that is back to normal. I turn it on to (II) and the CEL clicks once, fuel pump primes, then it clicks off again. No third click. As for soldering, none of my joints look like that. I'll just have to run out to honda tomorrow to see if they have one out there.
Are they commonly stocked parts? I need this by sunday so I can go back to school

Re: 2000 Civic LX Won't Crank
I ended up replacing the main relay and it still did not fix the problem. It will only start when it is cold out. I replaced the starter as well and still no dice. I have no idea what is wrong. Any help will be greatly appreciated. The relay will sometimes click rapidly when sitting there in the (II) position.
After I try to turn the key to crank it, the starter will get voltage, then drop back off. The oil, battery, and check engine lights will be lit but very dim after I try and crank it.
The weird thing is that it will only crank when it has sat for a while and is "cold". If I turn it off after it has been running for a few minutes and then go to start it right after, it will not start
