I have a 2000 LX 4 door sadan with a bad tranny, it's a D16Y7 non Vtec engine with a S40 A000 manual 5 speed tranny.
Question is, if I put a used 5 speed tranny out of a EX which is a S40 B000 I think, will it bolt up and will the speedo work correctly?
I believe it has different gearing.
Any insite on these granny's and interchangeability is greatly appreciated.

if its from another 2000 than everything is plug and play and even if its from an earlier civic 92-00 it should work. You might have to change the vss on the 92-95 to the one off of your bad tranny (if anything else if in doubt compare vss's)but should be easy.
I put a '00 auto trans in an 98 civic(did not even have to change the vss) and it works just fine.
