2000 Civic Junk Yard Motor replacement
I've got a niece that threw a rod on her 2000 Honda Civic LX 1.6. The motor sustained a hole in the oil pan, a hole in the block and the connecting rod grenaded. So basically she needs a new motor. I got one from a junk yard. Heard it run and sounded good. It has 90k miles. Does anyone have a guide of what I should check replace before I drop it in? I plan in cleaning it up and checking compression. Not sure if there are any problem seals I should replace now. I have not done a front wheel drive engine swap in about 15 years. All the cars i've worked recently are rear wheel drive so no dealing with cv joints. Can't remember how to take them out without damage.
