Default 2000 civic hatch ek

Im posting for a friend....

my friend is planning to swap his h22 on
a ek that he just bought.... he just got a shell...
well im gonna help him swap the motor and im
wondering if the prelude wiring harness is gonna
be plug and play.....or if he gonna need a jumper
harness for the ecu too?

im pretty sure the in-dash wiring on the ek
doesnt have the vtec oil and switch running towards
the engine bay..i think its a cx hatch..havent seen it yet..
so is there a website with a tuturial on how to do the wiring
for obd2 cars? If anyone understood this plz reply back
with any help thanks...

i never done a h22 swap in a civic but im pretty sure you would still need to modify the stock civic harness for the h22...using a jumper harness will depend on the year of the motor ..since the car is obd2b, you would need a jumper if the motor is obd2a or obd1..as for the vtec, oil pressure, etc... you would just need to add those yourself since the CX models dont have them..

what you can do to make sure is to take the ecu from the h22 if you have one already and swap it out with the civic..if it fits then you are good to go

if the ecu plugs right into the stock civic ecu plugs then all you would need to do it run the vtec, knock sensor, etc... wires straight to the ecu then you are done...all you need to do is find the pins on the ecu for the vtec and stuff

might be easier using a obd1 prelude ecu w/ jumper harness than deal w/ the immobilizer on the 2001 ecu...
