Er. Get next to the car and look under it. What's the lowest thing you see?

No.

I remember you saying you wanted "moar low". Now you have everything else that comes along with it. Deal with it or raise your car.

Extra oil pan is a must too say the least

You could make a skid plate for your oil pan

Lolz, I feel you man, I dont care what they say about you duder,
But I dont know why the truth hurts so many, as this is how we learned,
I personally like constructive critisism.

OP when doing anything other than stock to your car and I mean ANYTHING, you will need to compromise certain things, as you age hondas that low, and trust me I know how low it is and its to much, just dont look that cool and net you nothing but tire wear, trashing your inner plastics that im sure arent even there, and basically destroying the geometry of your suspension.
These things listed above are what you compromise to have the car that low.
Nobodys really trying to be a dick, but making a car worse off is opposite of what the plan should be.

I highly doubt its your oil pan. Usually, the first things to hit when you bottom out are your front core support, or your sway bar. Luckily, the oil pan isnt the lowest part of the vehicle.

Look under your car and see what looks all scraped up. I was lower 4" and my oil pan was fine.

I'm trying to figure out why this was not the first thing done before even starting this thread.

The tow points usually scrape first on mine. They're a little bent too.

You'll need more then extra oil pans if you make a habit of knocking that off.

Re: 2000 civic hatch d16y8 hitting oil pan?

no i did look b4 posting this but i think its my heat shield on the stock headers it has some scrapes on it the oil pan sits just as low but its more on the side as opposed as the header is in the middle so i guess the header wud hit first since its more in the center idk

Re: 2000 civic hatch d16y8 hitting oil pan?

what suspension did you end up buying?

I have hit my oil 2 times in 4 years. I bent the coresupport, and scrapped the shit out of my Si sway bar/lcas. Actually got high centered on my sway bar at school. Being slamed isn't that cool.

dam you guys sound like a bunch of friggin snobs, as if you arent spending your life on a computer just to answer these problems and act all snooty about it. you guys arent gods, stop acting like it. maybe its pitch black outside and op doesnt have immediate access to a jack, maybe hes at work wondering what he just scraped on the way there? SHAME on him for thinking he can call on this forum to help ease his mind. jeez.

OP: on topic it might be your pan, might be the heat shield, might be a number of low hanging surfaces and objects. have a buddy drive over a speed bump while you watch/listen, check everything before and after and you will find your culprit.

Re: 2000 civic hatch d16y8 hitting oil pan?

Who cares if it's hitting? The only thing that matters is that it looks "slammed" low as possible or the car isnt cool mang.

Anyone that lowers a car moderatly so the car can handle/perform better has no clue what they are doing.
