2000 Civic ex with body and interior issues - What's a fair price to offer?
I am currently looking at a 2000 Civic ex.
It is VSM and body panels are in very good condition.
(was involved in a small accident around 20mph)
NEEDS:
Front & Rear Bumpers
Grill
Headlights
Hood
Interior (except door panels and dash)
Car has 132,000 miles on it.
The only question I am asking is what DO YOU think is (roughly) a reasonable offer for the car? (What would you pay?)
car is on ebay but it is a local sale for me... just wanting to get some opinions on the value of what it is. I'm not wanting to spend anymore than $800 for it.
Please get back to me.

ahh ok ok... thats what i thought, but then i was a little confused by the u just want carpet and what not. I think you offer him 600 cash and see what he says... dont go higher than 800, but i mean for another 600 you could have it relatively repaired, and at least driveable... not pretty but driveable

I'd think it'd be worth more than $800. $300 is what we got for a a rolling totalled '97 EX coupe shell with everything under the hood including the engine, dash and wiring. Our car's floor buckled in the wreck was so hard. The front frame rails were all messed up, the chassis was a total loss, no use in repairing.
That car runs and drives fine and has a clear title too.
If that car were mine I'd want at least a grand.
If I were putting an offer on it I'd probably start at $900 but go up to $1200 and that's with the intention of either highly modifying the vehicle or doing a very budget daily driver build (as in unpainted bumpers and such, which I know would eventually get to me).
If you're just looking for a daily to daily, just get whatever you find that (1) is cheap, (2) is reliable and hopefully easy to find parts for and (3) you can stand to drive.

It all depends on the buyer.Telling him not to get it don't help him at all.Sure the rad support and that needs replacing. If your going at it see if you can find an el/domani front even a 96-98 front to get you off the ground. It sure has potential. As for the seats just about anything can fit for the time being. I say go for it and offer him between 6-750.It is rust free.Something you don't see in newfoundland for long lol. These deals never pass by me !

OP says he wants to daily drive it, so I doubt he's looking to do a front end coversion.
Looks like bare minimum he'll need:
- 96-00 2/4 rear bumper
- driver seat
- 99-00 hood
- 99-00 front bumper
- 99-00 headlights
- pull/hammer core support top
If he wants it a bit more complete:
- 99-00 core support piece
- 99-00 grille
- sideskirts
- paint
- carpet
- driver seat
- rear seat
- center console/console delete
- hubcaps/wheels

I think I'd go as high as $1K. A similar 00EX in unwrecked condition would be $2500-3K, and it wouldn't cost $1K to put it back in unwrecked condition if the guy knew what he was doing and got a little lucky.

Bid low to start with and see if you can work out a deal that suits you both, start him out at like $350-$400 worst he can say is no then you up your offer to as much as you are happy to pay.

Re: 2000 Civic ex with body and interior issues - What's a fair price to offer?
the seller emailed me, said someone was coming today and had offered $900... if i wanted to pay more i could come and get it. im not going to do anything today. hopefully that was just a "one-liner" to try to get me to pay more.
ill wait another day and contact the seller again, see if the car "sold" or not then i will make a last cash offer.
thank you for a the advice and your opinions.
