2000 Civic EX AC Compressor completely Siezed
So my ac was working great. All of the sudden today I noticed a really loud sound like rocks bouncing around in my engine bay. It took me a little while to realize it was my ac. When I had the ac off the noise when away. It was like 100 degrees here so I kept the AC on. After a few minutes of the noise the compressor completely siezed up and the belt started squeeling really badly. The pulley spins with the ac off. My question is what would cause the compressor to completely die in one day when it had been working great all summer? I will replace the compressor and I dont want the new one to die so I will flush the system.

Parts wear over time and break. That's pretty much it. There's a lot of moving things in compressors if one peice even chips it doesn't take long to destroy the whole thing.
