2000 civic dx overheats
Guys,
I gotta prob with my honda civic 2000 dx. I bought it 2nd hand (so I do not know its past too much). Recently, I had a prob with it in which it would not speed above 30-40 mph (although the engine did rev-up nicely). The problem was traced by a garage mechnic to skipped tooth in the timing belt. The plastic compartment that houses the timing belt had melt in places due to the heat and peices of plastic had broken off and making sounds from within the compartment. He did replace the timing belt and water pump and engine oil.
Now, it drives well, but, I when I drive for around 30 to 40 miles , I smell a faint oil burning smell inside the car. Then, when I stop the car and open the bonnet, I can sense that the engine has got heated up.
Also, when I switch on the fan, I heating a sound at higher speeds.
Any suggestions ?
P.S: I am newbee to the car world and am learning fast. Pls be considerate when u reply.

LOL what is that? you hear a sound at higher speeds with the fan on but not at lower speeds? maybe something is hitting the fan? do an inspection of the fan. clarify please so that we can help. the smell of oil burning i dunno what that could be. is it burning oil or no? check your exhaust smoke. blue= oil. also keep checking the dipstick.
