Default 2000 Civic Dash into a 1988 Civic

So I have been toying around with the idea of putting alot of my stock 2000 DX parts into a '88-ish year civic.

I know my d16 engine will play friendly with the engine bay but I am trying to find out if it would be possible to retrofit my 2000 civic dash into the '88 civic.

Has anyone done this before? If so, pics and descriptions please.

If not, could someone help me out by measuring the width of an '88 civic's dash so I could at least get some idea if it would be remotely possible.

And now I put in a pic because noone looks at a thread without pics.
Look its my '00 with ITR wheels (i wish)

I'd love to, I've currently got my eyes on a local '88 selling cheap.

You're not planning on ripping apart that clean white hatch for an 88 civic are you? (if thats yours)

no, I bought a wrecked '00 SI for it b16 and put that in my hatch.

so now I have extra parts. All extra interior parts because I had two cars and only one was drivable, and the stock d16 from my '00 hatch.

So I will put the d16 into the '88 (if I get it) and was just wondering if I could update the interior a little with my extra parts.

Here's the SI

Is this your opinion or a fact based on measurements or prior experience?

i would say no as well but then again its all about your fabrication skills. do me and yourself a favor, measure the distance between the front pillars on both the 88 and the ek. then tell us what the numbers are. thats a good starting point i think and will reveal a lot about fitment. i recently changed the dash in my corolla and i dont want to think about adapting a dash from another car into it, its hard enough as it is.

My buddy across the street has 88 or 89 civic si or w/e the hell it is, I have a 96 coupe, I told him it wouldn't fit, busted out tape measure.. he decided he can't lol, even if you got it fit and with alot and alot of triming you would be stuck with the doors no way in hell can fit...

There it is the bare facts, the EK is hugerer, and it would all look like ***.

of course "anything" is possible lOL

but you can't just drop a 96-00 dash in an ef lol the door "inserts" or w/e you call them are longer to begin with, ef doors are tiny
