2000 Civic Cx - steering wheel does not go back straight
Hello H-T
Hey maybe someone here has seen this happen but I havn't before.
Yesterday I made a right turn and then straightened the wheels but the steering wheel did not go back straight. I pulled over and straightened the steering wheel again and it seemed normal with the wheels pointing straight even seemed to turn normal standing still.
I drove the car home and it didnt drive bad at all. The steering wheel just doesnt go straight after a turn, but i'm driving straight. It steers fine and you dont even notice at what point it moved. The car is lowered and has skunk2 upper control arms which I need to check those hex bolts next since they suck lol! WTF is happening to my car lol? I hope someone knows I dont want to end up as lunch meat on the side of the freeway lmao!

Re: 2000 Civic Cx Steering wheel is trippin I need your help!
could be that it has a bad tooth in the rack or the stearing wheel itself might be slipping on the shaft most of the time u have to press those off with a puller and put them back on with an impact

When was the car last aligned? You're right, Junk2 hardware does suck. It's very possible they've slipped, and your alignment is now shot to hell. Get the car aligned before you chew up the tires.

Fyi for peeps that have this problem maybe this will help. It ended up being the rack and pinion came unbolted. We have never seen this happen crazy! Its better now! Now that its tighter the alignment is a hair off so ya I will have to do that! Yes i get inside tire wear but also drive pretty fast in turns haha! Thanks for trying to help all! Merry Christmas or what ever you celebrate!

In heavy turning, weight is transferred to the outer edge of the outside tire, not the inner edge. I'm curious how exactly the rack came unbolted.
