Default 2000 civic coupe...will these slicks work?

Not to familiar with this civic, But I have a set of MT's Im going to sell, and I had the slicks on my CRX. but it has too much power for the slicks, and I require bigger ones.....

So I'm wondering if a set of 20.X6.X14 slicks will be Ideal for someone with a 2000 civic coupe with a type-r motor and bolt-ons.....

Please let me know

Thanks

For that setup, slicks aren't even necessary. He'd be fine with DRs or sticky street tires. But they would work.

I hope you're getting at least 24 1/2s. They worked for me.

slicks are never a bad thing! How many people cut 1.8 or less 60's on street tires? Slicks? exactly.

Why would he get 24.5's for a simple NA setup?

gear calculators do wonders to show you best tire sizing relative to your trap speed

DRs are street legal. A car putting down roughly ~190whp doesn't really need slicks.

Secondly, I wasn't referring to him. I was referring to the OP. The one with the turbo CRX. I was simply stating that I ran that size on my 400+hp car.

it's not an issue of street legal or not.

Take a B16 in a gutted CX hatch....most good drives can hit a 2.0 60 on street tires....lets say he hits a 14 flat.

Swap on some slicks that let him trap at the top of 4th gear(best gear reduction possible), 60 foot is a 1.8 now, and that's better? Right off the bat that's 2/10s!

It's not apparent to me. I see your arguement, and it's valid. But slicks are for cars with power IMO.

If you have them now, try them out and see for yourself if they're a good fit or not.
