2000 civic ac not working
I have a 2000 civic se. the ac stopped working last summer.
the compressor clutch an condenser fan wont come on.
I jumped both and the they work.
the fuses and relays are good.
what should i check next?
i have read evry post on this topic over and over.
could the ac button possble be faulty?

However did you jump the low-pressure switch or did you just apply 12v straight to the compressor clutch?

I thought so, try instead jumping the low pressure switch.
Turn the car on, turn A/C on and then jump the low pressure switch.
-if the clutch engages and the air doesnt get any colder after some time, you will need to get a recharge on your system as most of the freon has leaked out of the system somehow and the pressure is too low for the A/C system to run.
-if the clutch engages and DOES get cold, then you need to replace the low pressure switch. It is faulty.

Re: 2000 civic ac not working
If you have very low freon the compressor will NOT come on so as to prevent damage. Check your freon, if its low fill it up and the compressor should start working again. if its full then you have issues elsewhere.

Re: 2000 civic ac not working
A bad A/C pressure would prevent the compressor clutch from engaging but not the condenser fan from running.
Have you checked whether hood fuse 56 or dash fuse 17 is blown?
If you unplug the A/C thermostat and ground the Blu/Wht wire, does the A/C now work?

Take it to a shop for a freon charge...
low freon/ and the a/c wont come on...
if your jumping everything....my bet would be freon.

Re: 2000 civic ac not working
Again, for an 00 Civic, low refrigerant would only prevent the compressor clutch from engaging. The OP also has the problem that the condenser fan won't run. So low refrigerant is not a good fit with the problem.
