Hi, bought an EL (basically a Civic EX with an Si engine and leather seats) fully loaded for my ma, fantastic car, except it idles at around 100-300 (almost stalling) when warm.

The guy I bought it from said it sat for 1 year without being driven (his wife got a new car). So he had to boost the car to start it.

The car starts up after cranking a bit, the battery terminals are pretty much corroded with blue stuff.

The low idle sounds like an IAC issue. Should I clean it out?

Also, would replacing the battery help with low idle?

Post the CEL codes, replace the battery, do an ignition system tune up, and clean the IACV.

No CEL codes at all.

I'll be replacing the battery tomorrow. Should I run some injector cleaner? I'll also be cleaning the IACV tomorrow as well.

I plug in the OBDII and no codes come up, if that's what you mean.

Does the car have any maintenance record?
If not, I would start a good ignition tune up.
Plugs, cap, rotor, ignition wires.
Then
Fuel filter, injectors cleaner, fresh new fuel with cleaning detergent ( shellv or bp)
Clean throttle body

If high mileage:
Send out injectors to get service.
