I'm not sure what companies are any good for a built d-series but to get that much out of one it'd be easier to go boost, still lots of work, just not as much as an all motor build. Like any honda really.

turbo that beast thats about the only way you will be able reach your horsepower goals on a d16, some good companys are full race edelbrock and greddy, they make some of the better ones, but i sugest the full race they come with a better manifold and turbo.

yeah. unless you intend on spending a TON of money, i suggest a turbo setup. personally i would go for some eagle rods, low comp wiseco pistons, and a zex street/strip camshaft. ive heard good things about that cam combined with a turbo, and you can use stock valve springs and retainers.

I have around 200 right now, maybe 180 on 8 psi (havnt dynoed but have done my research). I'm using vitara pistons and eagle rods, the block will have to be notched, a machine shop can easily do it. Also, i have a cometic head gasket, t3/t4 (.57 trim, .52 comp and .63 hotside, the ebay special) with a external tial 38mm wastegate and 3" exhaust. Im building mine for 350hp (waiting on injectors at the moment) though so if you did this your could hit 250 easy. I'm also tuning with crome and a lc-1 innovate wideband o2.

Throw on ARP head studs, and new oem headgasket, paired with a customized turbo kit garrett t3/t4 turbo, .50trim, .42 A/R will get you go 220WHP no problem. Will be reliable as long as you use reputable parts and a good tuner with a chipped/tuned p28 ecu

Re: 200 to 230 whp d16z6 (1993-eg1)
reliably..the Z6 can handle about 200whp on stock internals. I have heard of people reaching as much as 220 whp on a stock Z6 though...as most people will tell you its all about the tune. It doesnt matter how much money you spend on brand name equipment, if your tune sucks its all worthless. but if your looking to turbo you might as well just build the bottom end. It really isnt that much more money if you look at the big picture. I have a built turbo D16Z6 motor for sale if your interested, lol, my entire setup is less then what you would spend on your own thats for sure. if your interested let me know.

Stock block can handle 400+HP with a block gaurd. Internals around 200 like stated above. Id suggest a go autoworks kit for great quality at a great price.
