2 OEM headgaskets for boost?
anyone try to do this. ive heard it works. but im not so sure about running 20 pounds of boost with it. the oem one is to thin and is allowing my valves to tap. and cometic would take 3 weeks to get me one. what u think? run 2 of them or wait a month for cometic? its for an h22 but i cant get any replies in the prelude forum. thanx

you have that built h22... forged bottom end, headwork, the whole 9 and you didn't clay it... wow...
don't half *** it, you should check your valve-train as well now to, probably ruined the valves
and if you have a built bottom end for boost why are you even close to tapping that valves... something is def wrong with your build dood.

Re: 2 OEM headgaskets for boost? (GarageAlchemist)
well i know the head was resurfaced twice. and the block i have no idea, as it was a replacement. all i know is that the valves didnt tap when i had the .030" cometic gasket installed. only with the oem.
and i have no idea why there even close to tapping. i checked the book and i dont see anything about piston to valve clearance. all i know is that my valve train sounds like a mack truck and with the bov people thought i had a turbo diesel motor in there. if the t-belt was off a tooth at the crank, wouldnt i notice a choppy idle and the inability to rev. oh man. looks like im gonna order a new cometic gasket the same size as the other. in the mean time i will start tearing the head off to look at the pistons/valves. unless there is a way to check piston to valve clearance.
