The muffer really doesnt make that big of a difference. ITs the 2.5" piping that will matter. As long as they are straight through with a perforated core, you should be okay

Re: 2.5 mandrel bent pipe w/ Es Oval VS Apexi 60mm WS2 (teknoracing)
I know the 2.5 piping will flow better than a 60mm...but I'm deciding between having a SS mandrel bent piping from Kteller and attaching a Es Oval or just getting an Apexi Ws2 catback system... I know the WS2 is quiet but I heard that the Es Oval is straightthough design and the Ws2 is more baffled.. I just wanna know if the Es oval is alot louder than Ws2.. I'd go with the Es oval but if it's gonna be loud and annoying I'd just get the Ws2.. Lemme know your opinions..

Well I cant help on the 2.5 Es Oval but I just got the WS2 catabck for my 96 EX and it is very quiet. Gave little gains in low and mid range but not much overall. It still has not completly broken in yet though. I give to WS2 but idk anything about the other one your asking about. Good Luck.

Is it way louder than the Ws2? Will putting a resonator lower it dwn almost as a Ws2? Cause the deciding factor for me is that I'm building my motor setup for NA and I know 2.5 will be a lil better than the Ws2 but I don't want an annoying exhaust for a daily driver. Thanks

yea the ES is going to be way louder then the WS2. If I was you I would get the Apexi WS2 if you want something quiet.

Re: 2.5 mandrel bent pipe w/ Es Oval VS Apexi 60mm WS2 (Lord Helmet)
Good info.
Still a hard decision. Leaning towards the Ws2 but the 2.5 piping is what's making it hard to choose. I just hope that going with the 60mm Ws2 on a Na car won't rob me power.. Thanks for the replies

Which one would yield better performance? Has anybody dynoed with the Es Oval w/ 2.5" piping? I'm going NA and would prefer to have the exhaust that flows better..

Well.. The 2.5" should flow better, it is 63.5mm as opposed to 60mm.
You will have to make a decision based on what you want more, Power or a quiet exhaust(although, you could search for a happy medium).
The ES will be louder than the WS2, but that is due to the fact that the it is less restrictive in design than WS2. That is the point of a straight through design muffler though, less restriction.
Reguardless though, it won't sound like ricer nasty raspy crap if you have a resonator installed.. (i know, i had 2.5" w/ 18" resonator and es oval on my LS Sol)
BTW... You should definately wait until you actually build your engine to install the 2.5".. It will only hurt performance on a stock engine...

i'm guessing price is not a factor for you, because i got my muffler for a bill and 50 bucks for custom piping at a local muffler shop.
so overall, $150 +tax installed.
i'm guessing the WS2 catback system is a lil bit more expensive.
and yeah. the ES oval with same diameter piping is LOUD ! me and my 4 other friends all run the same ES oval set-up on B16's and B18's and they're all pretty loud. I have yet to hear it with a resonator because we don't believe in resonator or cat. ahah

Re: 2.5 mandrel bent pipe w/ Es Oval VS Apexi 60mm WS2 (90civichb)
Thanks for the info.. I've decided to juzt get the Ws2 for the silence and once I build up the motor then I'll replace it.
