Default 1st gen in EK

anyone with a 1st gen b16 in your EK? just wondering how its doin and how you like it? and what tranny/ecu are you running? thanks for any replies.

just started on mine, its a bitch, i need a lot of parts. have to do the whole obd2 grey plug conversion.

I was about to do it until I found out how many parts you need to get it to work. Easiest thing is to get an OBDII engine.. saves on a lot of hassle.

are you using the OBD2 dist and injectors? i forget what else you need.

Also, anyone using a first gen block with OBD2 head? im thinking this way is much easier.

Sorry man, but that is pretty ghetto. You have stepped THREE generations to source a motor!

AND YOU'RE IN CALIFORNIA? TOTALLY SMOG-ILLEGAL. THAT SWAP IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL ALTOGETHER - SAME YEAR OR NEWER

Why not just save your money and do it RIGHT and LEGAL and just get the OBDII Si B16A2 swap?

well, some people don't have much money to spend on that kind of stuff...
of course he would like to do what you said, heck... i'm pretty sure he would love to get a B18C5 but money is the issue with a lot of people here ya know.
B16A2 would be better and it would save him some headache, i agree.
or how about B18B? that would be nice too and it's cheaper.

yes i know its illegal.. but even if i end up getting a later generation b16 its not gonna end up to pass smog by the time im done doin to stuff to it.
