1st gear tranny problems
I have about 83,XXX miles on my B16, and lately putting it into 1st gear is troubling; it just doesnt seem to want to go in. When im at a dead stop sitting at a light i occasionally have trouble putting it in first; this problem never occured before. In my semi-noob opinion I think i need a new clutch; i put in another stock clutch around 50,XXX miles. Is it possible that with a new clutch this 1st gear problem will go away, or is this something a littlre more problematic such as getting a new syncro?

Re: 1st gear tranny problems (pearlblueb16)
I have heard B16's have trouble keeping their synchro's in good shape. Trouble goin in to 1st gear at speed and easy into 1st at a stop? probably a synchro goin out. If you change your tranny oil and their are brass shavings in the oil, its from the synchros.
Thats all I got, but checking the shift linkage would be a good idea too.

Re: 1st gear tranny problems (pleeze_EG_dontblowup)
what exactly would be problematic in the shift linkage? the problem is that i have trouble going into 1st when at a complete stop, although i do have problems going into 1st from a roll, but who doesnt have that with their b16.
