Default 1999 Honda Civic EBP SI project car.

I've been on Honda-tech for a long time, but haven't posted much in the recent years. Well I picked up this Si last week 4/17/15 in the St Louis area. I'm from Southern California moved here in 2013 I had a 2000 SI back in 2007 and many other Honda/Acuras. My plans for this Si is to bring it back to mint condition and keep it all OEM and stock unmodded. I have other vehicles to drive while I tear into this car and a garage just need to find the time and parts where I live no parts are available but I live somewhere where I can park this anywhere and not worry about it.

PROS'S
Clean title
All matching vins engine/trans etc.
No major damage.
Runs good.
No rust.
Pretty much stock.
Still has factory front lip!

CONS,
200K
Minor hail damage
Dirty interior.
Huge fart can.
Rear seats have holes all over them
Needs door panels.
Throws P0420 code.

I'm debating on buying a new cat or getting a P28 with a B16A2 base map to take care of that code.

I've changed all the fluids so far. Ordered brand new OEM catback to replace this junk catback. Ordered new bushings still need to clean it up.

Feedback is appreciated. Here's some photos,

That cat is removable easily, try a couple of cleaning methods before you just junk it.
Otherwise, a magnaflow OEM replacement cat should suffice for cheap, otherwise your looking near 600$ for an OEM cat.

looks clean. I would say just pay to get the code fixed so you can see what else needs to be fixed in the future before swapping out the ecu. Then slowly fix parts of the motor to rebuild it since it has 200k miles already. maintaining the motor should be priority IMO.

A clean unmolested EBP SI - awesome find

I'm working on one myself and they are getting harder to find in good shape. Have fun with the build man.

Minor hail damage? Have you tried the dry ice method before? Or cheaper solution, buy a can of duster. Hold the can upside down and spray at the center of the hail dent. The cooling effects of either should allow the metal to contract, and the dent usually pulls itself out. If they are deeper dents, stay away from the dry ice. the deeper the dent, the more forcefully the dent pops back outward. Instead of an "in" dent you could end up with an "out" dent, so to speak.

minor hail damage? painless dent removal gets the job done since the paint job still looks good.

Never heard of the dust can method. I might try it. Just small hail dents on hood, roof and trunk not to bad some you have to look for. There is a dent on driver quarter panel that will need work so I might just have it resprayed.
