Default 1999 civic dash problems

so I have a 99 civic and a d16y7 from 98 civic everything works except the rear defrost, cold/hot and fan on dash. I checked the fuses, it had a alarm before so I took it out maybe I did something wrong? idk if it worked before pulling alarm out

The rear defrost has a relay in the dashboard. I dont know exactly where it is but im sure you can find info about it on this forum, When you press the button do you hear a click and does the indicator light up? Some remote start are hooked up to the rear defrost too.. At least mine is.. It could also be a short somewhere in the wires. check the fuses under the hood too and listen for that relay click.

Was any of it working before you took out the alarm? You probably disconnected a harness or maybe one loosened out overtime, Fuses may be good but behind the fusebox are quite a few wire harnesses that branch off to different parts of the car, I'd loosen the fusebox under the dash (just 2 bolts) It comes right out, Check if all connections are secured. Once verified, I'd remove the gauge clusters and check the connections behind there as well and last but not least, I'd remove the climate control bezel and check the connectors behind there as well. It could be many things but it could also be the most minor thing. And of course while doing all of this, The negative battery terminal should be disconnected a few moments before any troubleshooting begins. Good luck.
