Default 1999 civic cel code

im trying to help out a friend of mine with his car because the car boggs sometimes..

he has a d16y8 stock motor with a p28 chipped (unknown specs)
i did a cel code and the codes are

13 = atmospheric pressure sensor
22 = vtec pressure valve (on his vtec solenoid that green sensor broke off so the code 22 is throwing but im not really sure if im correct)
41 = primary oxygen sensor heater.
for the code 41 im not really sure if the person who chipped the ecu disable this code but i have couple o2 sensor so i might try it out

if anybody has an info of getting rid off this cel code please help me out. thanks in advance!!

why is he running a chipped ECU with a stock motor ? try and check the codes again with a virgin ecu(non-chipped) and see what you get

he bought the car that way.. also the car was converted to 5spd and the motor that he has on the car right now is not the original. I will try to use my obd2b ex 5spd ecu when i have time and try see if anything change.

Stop right there. If the motor isn't original, you need to figure out exactly what motor is in the car before you go fiddling with the ECU at all.

im not really sure about the original motor.. original harness was used and it looks like the vtec was directed. it could be an Dx model because it has manual

It doesn't matter what the original motor was. You need to know what motor you have now, and get the proper matching ECU.

so it's an OBD2 engine with and jumper to OBD1. So AFAIK you'r ex ECU should be the correct one as the ex(obd2) came with a Y8. just remove the jumper

okay i got the 13 and 22 cel out of the way with my ex 5spd ecu and 41 still a problem which is the o2 sensor.. new problem is that while the car was on the cel keep flashing then when we drove off the cel kept it steady.. now that's trippy.. is there any wire or ground that could cause this problem??? btw the car runs a little bit better..

If the CEL is flashing, that means there is a serious problem and the car should be turned off immediately to prevent major damage.

well, that was a big crack on the vtec solenoid where the green plug was.. could that be causing the cel to flash?? and its now running with my old ecu which was ex 5spd obd2b

No, a crack in the solenoid wouldn't cause the CEL to flash. You need to re-pull the codes.

OK, now that you've pulled it, reset the ECU and see if A) that or any other codes come back, and B) if any of your problems recur.

before i connected the ecu the battery was already disconnected.. we was fixing other problem which was the leak from the vtec solenoid and the green plug from the vtec.. thats why code 22 was throwing.. for code 13 i think the old ecu was messed up.. i did couple research on how to get rid of it.. they were saying that it was from the ecu. now before we start the car.. i did the cel code again and code 41 was the only code that i could get.. 13 and 22 is gone with the obd2 ecu.. and with the new problem the cel keep flashing when the car is in complete stop, but when we drove off the cel would be steady

OK then, do you have access to a voltmeter?

Then replace the O2 sensor with a known working unit.
