1998 ek9 obd2 VS. 1999 ek4 obd2
I want to know....if there is a difference between the two obd2 of these two vehicles ek9 and ek 4...with different years? I believe that they have different on-board plugs. But I want to know if I will be needing a wire harness.....if a power FC that is for an ek9 (1998) will be installed into my 1999 b16 obd2? or it will plug in without any harness to buy?
thanks!
thanks!

I think the wiring harness is different between the two. Don't quote me but I think its the one under the dash.

Won't you be out of Reg's for not having an engine of the same model year? Just asking not trying to be a dick it's for my personal knowledge.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The ECU plugs between a 98 and 99 EK are different, everything else is more or less the same.
The problem is that on EK civics the engine harness is ONE peice all the way to the ECU. So short of repinning ALL of the ecu wires into different plugs, a new harness is needed.
You are within CA smog laws if the motor you are swapping in is of the same year or newer then the car. But VAFC's or OBD conversions will definetly not pass the ref. And some refs will make you show some kind of proof that the ECU you are running belongs to your car.

Thanks for the info. I just got my 2000 integra book, and I have an ITR harness to use plugs from onto my SI harness. I will have it all worked out before I put it in the car.
