Default 1998 Acura 1.6 EL/Honda civic EX

what would cause my auto tranny with less than 150, 000 km's that has never been abused is slipping when I accelerate my a complete stop.

What would cause this to occur? My tranny oil is fresh and full (using genuine honda ATF).

I read once that the shift valve body leaks pressure b/c of a bad o-ring seal but I'm not sure if that is what is wrong.

What is the primary cause of something like this and what is the best fix (if any?)

Thanks

Well try this. Get some trans fluid honda **** . Drain it then re fill it then put it in gear on the jack stands for 10 min then drain it again. Now refill it and put some lucas in it and drive it around for a bit then see if it holds. These trannies once they start slipping there not worth ****. Its out of a 98 EL there will be tons of y8 AUto trannies around lol.

hmm okay

So the tranny is a Y8 Auto tranny?

Is slipping a common thing on honda auto trannys?

Thanks

I've confirmed that my 98 Acura EL transmission is on the way out the door.

What transmission from the various automatic civics will work on my 98 EL?

If my memory serves me correctly I think the 96-2000 Civics ALL have the same automatic tranny regardless of trim (Si, EX, DX, HX). I'm up in Canada so Si here is I think the HX in the USA.

Can someone please tell me which generation of automatics are interchangeable?

Thanks
