Default 1997 Honda Civic LX Wont Start.

Hello Everyone, first time posting here and it's about my gf's car. We've been having trouble with this thing ever since the CV joints blew back in April. We got those replaced and the car had been running fine until last Friday. She had been having issues starting up her car, and now today the thing won't start whatsoever, the engine doesn't make any noise at all, none of the lights power on at all and not even the power locks and windows will work. We replaced the battery today and it still won't turn on. I'm thinking it could be the starter and the ignition because the ignition had been really stiff for a while now and she always had issues turning the key. It would usually get stuck when you tried to take it out. We're not that savvy with cars so what do you guys think?

Do the headlights work? They are not connected to the ignition switch so that is a good way to tell if you have power from the battery.

Check that the brown/black wire is connected to the (-) of the battery and the red and white wires are on (+). Connecting the battery backwards will blow the main fuse and the whole car will be dead.

Just checked them and no, unfortunately they didn't turn on. I know I installed the battery right, the wire with the red cap on it is connected to the positive pole, and the other wire to the negative pole.

You will need a voltmeter to diagnose further. Start by checking if there is voltage at the battery posts, then go from there to see where you are losing it.

Also, the car wouldn't start before we even changed out the battery.
