Default 1997 Civic lx coolant temp switch wiring

Searched and didn't see an answer. I bought a crv gauge cluster and that cluster did not read my fuel level and still doesn't read coolant temperature. I assumed the crv would be a similar instrument cluster but only the speedometer and odometer can be swapped (which is fine because now I have a working odometer) with my factory cluster

I'm wondering if it is possible to tap the wire for the gauge cluster coolant temp and run it manually to the sensor to verify if I have a wiring problem or gauge prolem

The coolant temp sensor works, and the coolant fan sensor works, the switch under the distributor reads nothing but below C. Initially I was having problems with it always reading hot, but after replacing the switch it always reads cold but the fan always kicks on

So is there anything I'm missing in trouble shooting the cluster or trouble shooting the wiring, I'm pretty positive my crv cluster is bad but my original cluster still reads fuel level just not coolant temp

Post the circuit diagram for the CRV gauge cluster.

What year CRV?

97? Crv cluster.

If I can't get either to work I'm just going to use an auto meter water temp gauge I guess

Really just want to know how to wire the coolant switch directly to the coolant gauge on the dash. If I can run a wire from the switch to the yellow/green wire for input on the cluster

Anyways I believe the motors are shot on the crv cluster, but the screw for + on the civic cluster is stripped. So I'm going to try soldiering a wire from the + connection on the temp gauge to the cluster board to bypass having to use a screw to conduct the current. I'll post my process in a day or two.

Right now I have the crv odometer in my civic gauge cluster, it works but the amber color of the crv font looks ugly. May just use a white paint pen to change the color it glows when the light reflects off of it

Ok so I grounded the wire and it immediately sent thr gauge to hot, I put in the old sensor and it immediately sent thr gauge to hot, I put in the new sensor I have been using and it reads constant cold. When I take a reading at the gauge panel it shows a constant .07 volts from the new sensor.

I've tried 3 different connectors all with the same result.

My conclusion is that the new sensor is faulty, it contains a resistor that is not changing as the heat rises.
