1997 1.6 EL heated leather seat retrofit
As you can see in the topic title, i am interested in doing a retro fit of 1999 EL leather heated seats into my 1997 EL Premium. I am just wondering if this is possible.
The main reason why i am considering this is because the leather on my drivers side ripped along the side and my wallet caught the stitching and also ripped the stitching on the cushion that you sit on.
I went to a wrecker and found the same color seats in a 1999 EL premium, and since (to my knowledge) all premium ELs 1998 and up have heated seats i am assuming these seats will have the heating coils in them. I have an idea of how i would do such a thing, wire the switch in with the ignition wire perhaps so that the seats can only be turned on when the ignition is on, then mount the switches in the center console around the E-Brake. Just a guess...
Any insight is greatly appreciated.
