Icon2 1996 ek civic... b20 vtec need HELP please. ive looked everywhere

Ok so i have a 1996 honda civic ek, b20b4 block, gsr head. Here's my problem.... So when i start my car and let it idle the rpms sit at 800 , then start to fluctuate a little bit nothing big, 200 rpms or so ... then after i rev it a little like 2000rpms the rpms then sit at close to 200. When i put it into gear and start to drive the rpms jump sporadically 2000-3200 rpms and the actual rpms of the engine change so it makes my car jump foward. Also at idle, if i rev to any rpms after a bit it will just shut off and this also happens when i drive and the rpms jump , it will die after that..... i have brand new ngk spark plugs gapped at 42, wires, rotor, and distributor cap. still this happens .... before this the car ran like a champ. Any advice would be much appreciated as this has had me out of a car almost a month. Thanks.

did u cover the throttle body with ur hand to see if u have a leak? if it dies that means u have no leak, but if it still runs after u covered ur hand over the throttle body, then u have a leak somewhere .. im jes assuming u have a leak tho, but i dunt know wut was done to it before .. i would check the obvious things first .. its worth a shot IMO

yes sir and yes sir .. if its leaking the engine will have an air supply to keep running .. to check for the vacuum leak, u can take a piece of paper and run it along (all the way around) between the intake manifold and cylinder head, between the throttle body and intake manifold, maybe a vacuum line is not attached or is broken, and also if u have a GSR intake manifold its actually a three part intake manifold u can see where it connects and check there too ..

anyways if theres a leak the paper will start 'whistling' and thats where ur leak is, assuming if thats the only spot that has the leak.
