1996 EJ6 Coupe build thread - from Germany
Hey,
First of all, sorry for my not perfect english.
I am Max, 20 years old and I am Polish, but I live
in Germany.
My first car was a Mitsubishi Colt (in USA called Mirage).
I still have it but I'm gonna sell it this month. My second
car was a very rusty EG4 Civic. Then I sold it, bought another
Mirage ('cause I had an accident with mine) and then I found
very cheap a EG3 Civic with 1.3l engine on carburetors.
So I started to build the Civic in Hellaflush-Style. It's not finished
yet. Now I want to sell my Mirage and I bought instead of it
a Civic EJ6 Coupe. Here some information :
- Honda (USA)
- CIVIC JHMEJ6
- 1998
- 150.000km (120.000km the engine)
- 1.6l engine (D16Y7)
- EK4 Airbox
- D16Y8 Intakte Manifold and Throttle Body
- USDM P28 ECU (not chipped or mapped yet)
- 4-2-1 exhaust header
- USDM front quarterpanels (without sidemarkers)
So I bought it in this condition :
The clearance is not perfect, because the car had a Carbon trunk hood.
I have to fix it And I modified the tail lights to USDM ones. The inner
lights works now, too.
Then I modified the grill, 'cause I saw one good looking preface
EK9 and wanted to build it in this decent way. Because it will
be just my daily.
Here I painted the red cylinder head cover in purple (my EG hatch
will be this color, too) :
and I threw down the ugly BuddyClub rear bumper, which I'm selling
on eBay now.
And today I put on my 16" x 9J R.O.D rims on it with some Raceland
coilovers. They're not the best, but remember... it's just a daily. It's
not very low, but the car has to be suitable for daily use.
I hope you understand me and sorry again for my bad english.
The plans for the next time :
- Chip the P28 ECU and put on a D16Y7 map
- Facelift taillights (the red-white ones)
- paint the rear bumper (it has deep scratches :/ )
- put down the ugly stickers
- black Headlights
- some Foglights
- a CTR or SiR front lip
- rear Si lip
Regards
P.S: Here some pics of my project car 1995 EG3 Hatch :

Re: 1996 EJ6 Coupe build thread - from Germany
There it's very important to have a good suspension. The good thing is
that you don't have to "eintragen" every part you install on the car.
So I can put on Xenons, Eibach Ground Control, and other Stuff without
having problems with the police

So your building the car to be "herrafrushh"? lol
I like the way it looks now. Im not a fan of the hellaflush movement but yours looks pretty clean right meow.

The EJ6 will be just decent, and the EG3 Hatch will be in Hellaflush direction.
I will paint it purple and fit the wheels with more camber and offset.
