buy a used complete head. should not be more than $200. skip the intake manifold and just run the oem ex one.
oem headgasket.
it should not cost you more than $500 to do. if you're gonna spend 2 grand might as well do a b series swap.

No not trying to buy or sell from the market place, I was pricing out a new mini me vs a junk yard pull. New head, new intake, a new motor itself is about 1000 plus labor to R&R it. I could get a Bseries for cheaper I think but then I have to make everything fit and have to get it rebuilt and axles etc. My current engine runs great but with almost 450k on it, I want to plan on a replacement soon. I don't want to lose A/C (its hot in DC metro area) and I commute 65miles one way.

ahh that explains it. well i got my complete block+head 00' b16 with barely 100k on it for only $1000. bought the headers, IM, and such off here and spent an additional 200. pretty cheap build id say if your on a budget.
