I just bought a 1996 cx hatch and under braking it feels like the rear wheels are wobbling and it causes the whole car to vibrate under braking. I havn't had much time lately because of my 240 and school so I dropped it off at my mechanic and he said he checked everything in the rear and nothing seems to be wrong? He said something about the rear wheels are steel wheels from an older Honda and they need to be aluminum and that might be causing it, but that makes NO SENSE to me at all

Can anyone give me some suggestions as to what might be causing this?

My car shook but it was because my front rotors were warped when I got the car maybe you just need to do your brakes

i say the rotors could be warped take them to napa and have them cut if they can be cut within tolerance they will know and its relatively cheap to cut them see if that works if not he calipers could have uneven preasure on the rotor but i doubt it if i remember right they are single piston calipers.

I just drove it again right now. There isn't too much vibration in the peddle, but the wobbling noise is really loud and is now accompanied by a loud screeching noise too. It sounds/feels like my rear wheels are going too fall off every time I brake.
