1996 civic ex dy IM problems
hello,
I purchased a 96 civic ex auto and it had the wrong engine installed in it (non-vtec). I purchased a 2000 16DY8 which is the engine that should be there but I don't know how to hook up the intake manifold...The engine came off an manual transmission civic and mine is automatic....
Can I still use this intake or do I need to buy a new one..
Please help

you can still use a 5spd y8 intake, just leave the 2 wire iacv on the back on so it fills the holes but unplugged (won't be a plug for it anyway since your car is automatic), bolt on your automatic throttle body with the 3 wire iacv plug that one in and thats all.

thanks so much for your help...I will do this first thing tomorrow...
The IM is a 2000 and it has a air hole in the middle right by the valve cover...I read something about a cold start aid....do I just plug it?
Do you know if this car has one or two 02 sensors?
THanks again

The cold start thing in the middle is 99-00 specific but you can just cap it off. Your car should have two O2 sensors. Primary in the header/exhaust manifold and the secondary in the catalytic converter.

I will cap it off tomorrow....
The engine I purchased had the crankshaft sensor removed (under the oil pump) so I went ahead and purchased a new one and installed it....Along with the harness connection...there is another plug, it is round and brances off with the cranks sensor one...
I can't figure out where it goes.....Do you have a clue?
THanks for your help...

Round plug branching off near the crank fluctuation sensor plug would probably be the plug for the knock sensor. However if you can tell me how many wires it has and what colors they are then I can give you a definite answer.
