18" rims are way too big for a civic. 16" and below are perfect, and cheaper, and tires are cheaper too, and if you are planning on lowering the car, 16's are perfect

I have 18" Motegi Racing Mr7's. It is an 18 x 7.5 " and I believe they are at a 45mm offset. I have 215/35/18 Toyo's and the car is lowered with HR Race drop but the car sits lower in the front due to the swap. It rides rough and rubs from lock to lock but that is the sacrafice you make for the look. For pics see my ad for the car for sale

rough ride and rubs lock to lock?? That seems like a fair trade off for spending $3000 on wheels to have that special Look!!

I own a 96 honda civic coupe that had 18x7.0 Neeper Flyes that were custom cut to a 48mm offset on 215 35 18. It was lowered with a 1.25 progressive kit. It rode rough and did hit on full crank, but the look was well worth it. Unfortunialty, the car was stolen and stripped. Currently it is being reassembled with all new toys including 19x7.5 1-piece custom forged and designed wheels that will have a 53mm offset and use 225 35 19. Trust me, they will work!!! http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emsmile.gif

Re: 1996 Civic Coupe (DxHatchback)

How low is your hatch at the moment im running 16s with 194/55/R16s and it is running on standard suspension The car was bought as salvage the car had spun a few tims and hit a few trees the complete right side was gone including rear trailing arm. all this work was done all parts cost £2000 straight frm a honda dealer. This is because the honda civic coupe is rare around my way. After spending £2000 on parts i had it repaired cheaply for £500. The paint quality is not perfect. after driving it around for about 2 years. The rear 1/4 panel has started moving out of place. The gap between the door and the Rear Fender is getting bigget. I can nearly fit my small finger in the gap.
This will need repairing again. This time a proper job.
Then I Am thinking of 18s or maybe even 19s!!!
I live in London UK The roads are shit over here!

I got the same exact car and why in gods name would you want that size of a rim. Your car will be slower , ride like shit, 18's are heavy. 16" max and lower'd 1.6 thats a great set-up. 18" are for bmw 740il's or jag cx8's (?)

Use some spacers to push the wheel out a bit then grind the fender lip and paint the fender lip
