1996 Civic A/C Blower Problem...HELP!
Hey all, new to the forums, and really hoping you can help. I have already done some searching and found some info on the A/C blower I am having some problems with. A few days ago I realized my A/C wasn't blowing cool air as it used too, and the fan inside below the passenger side dash/glovebox sounded like it was nicking the side or something. As the days have gone on, the noise has gotten louder and my air has gotten warmer. I went to Walmart and bought some recharge for the A/C. As I was recharging, the fan got a bit louder, then stopped altogether, albeit the air inside was much cooler before it stopped turning. Now my A/C isn't working at all, no air is being pushed out of the vents. Is it my blower? Can I replace it easily? I read another thread saying there are 3 screws under the blower that you undo and kind of turn it out. Can anyone offer any instructions on doing this repair myself? Thanks for all your help in advance!

Yes, the blower motor behind the glove box drops straight down after unplugging the connector and removing the three screws. Wire battery power directly to the blower motor to see if it runs. If not, replace the motor.
Before adding refrigerant, did you measure pressures on the low and high sides to verify that the refrigerant was low? You may have overfilled the system.

Yeah it was working when I was recharging the ac, I was real low on pressure, I started and it was only at about 10-11 psi. I stopped on about 35 psi, then when I sat back in my car and turned off and on the AC, the fan stopped about 10 seconds in.

I just checked with the gauge that came with the recharge, it said only use on the low end. Either way, I should still replace the blower, correct?
