1995 Honda Civic
I am looking for some advice....
I have a 1995 Honda Civic, Auto transmssiion....The car Temp meter spiked last week. Pulled over and got towed. Discovered coolant all over the engine...Radiator spewed.. The garage replaced the radiator that was cracked....Also replaced thermostat....Took it for a test ride...Still overheating.....and white puffy smoke coming from exhaust....went to specialist
Had it diagnosed....possible Head Gasket...and/or head needs to be replaced...being quoted 1300....think this is worth it??? or should this car go to civic heaven??
1995 Model - 189,000 miles on the car....
Thanks!

no you can replace the head gasket for a lot less than that and I have a d16y8 vtec head that i'm selling for $175. The head gasket isn't more than $20 and a Chiltons manual for $15 and you can do it yourself.

a head gasket is $40 oem honda, and you can change it yourself in a night. it isnt that hard all you need is a torqe wrence and some mechanical knowlege. single cams are even eaiser becaus you dont have to take out the cam or re'ajust you're valves
