1995 eg swaps
ive been waiting to do a swap for a while now because ive been unsure in which engine i should put into my civic hb. at first i was thinking b20 but then i found out the sleeves are thin. then i was thinking about the k24 but thats a costly swap. now im leaning towards the h2b swap. i need some opinions on what ishould do and y. i would like to go forced induction to so keep that in mind.

Re: 1995 eg swaps (unlike4me)
go LS if you want forced induction eventually it's way better than paying 10k for the k series and then trying to get the turbo kit for it.
so go ls, but there is also a thread at the top of this forum that covers swaps...

if you would like to go forced induction. d seires is pretty good for boost..or b18b is at reasonable price .

I agree with you on that one. A simple turbo setup would probably cost less than $1,500. With it, you can easily obtain 250whp (somewhere around there) on a stock D-Series.
Boosting it is not bad of an option IMO.

You might want to re-think 250whp on a stock d, or you might hear the block go to piece's from the broke connecting rod, and the fact the injectors will never give you 250whp . I wouldnt want to push a stock d past 180-200whp because of injector and connecting rod issues. However rebuild for around $700 with some $350 rc injectors and you can easily make 250whp. But that leaving a few other things out.

Not a million posts in this thread will make you make up your mind right now on which engine to go with because you haven't done enough research. An H2B swap is alot more expensive than you think. I won't let this be a techless post though so I will tell you this... I forgot what I was going to say.

H2B swap is good if you plan on going NA and racing quite a bit. It is an expensive setup at 1500k for the engine and all the supporting stuff, at least 800 for a b series tranny (gsr, type r, b16) and then the mounting plates and stuff are another 1k for the kit. boost a d or b18b and youll be as fast or faster for less money.
