1995 Del Sol SI, 179k miles, $4,000. Good CarFax Report. Buy?? or No??
Should I go for it.
I need a quick sporty car. That is reliable and has good-great gasmileage.
Del Sol fits that........
If that car is sound mechanicaly, is it a good buy?
I have seen the car, Interior and Exterior are in EXCELLANT condition. Has aftermarket RockFord CD Player, leather intioer, all black in and out. VERY Nice.
Are Hondas reliable up to 200,000 miles and past if well maintained?
thank you.

At 179K miles, it's due for the timing belt and water pump job, as well as a major service. These routine maintenance jobs at 180K happen to be the MOST expensive too.
Belts and waterpump can run $430 and the major service could be at least $285 or so.
Try to talk them down for SURE if these services have not been done - come in with some REAL ammo to use so YOU have the leverage in the deal. Let them think you've done a LOT of research.
Actually you ARE doing some good research

my moms husbands 93 civic dx 4 door has over 300k miles on the stock motor and tranny. It probably doesn't run like it did at 50k, but it sure as hell runs.

I ve seen them for cheaper or same price with way less miles. If you gonna do a swap I guess its ok, but if u gonna drive it for a while look around.
