Icon2 1995 Del Sol Dies after crank

Hey Honda tech'ers,

I have a 1995 1.6L SOHC VTEC Del sol that dies after releasing the key from the start position. The car was running great last night. It will continue to turn as long as the starter is engaged, but when disengaged it dies immediately.

Last weekend I replaced the thermostat and cleaned the idle air control valve - it drove fine for 4 days afterwards, but in case there are near by sensors I may have knocked loose.

Any ideas what may be going on? Ignition switch maybe?

Sounds like a ignition switch problem.

My only hesitation is I replaced the ignition switch about a year ago. Is it still the most likely point of failure given its new-ness?

Also I'm noticing the ignition switch is often sold as a unit with the lock cylinder - if the car runs in the 'start' position than I shouldn't need to purchase the whole unit, correct?
