1995- cranks, won't start
Hi All,
I'm a new member, but I've owned Honda vehicles for years. I own a 1995
del Sol, with 212K on it, and it's never given me a problem over my ownership years. (I am the second owner). It's always had regular service performed at our dealership, Walnut Creek Honda in CA. Last service was at about 200K.
For many years, it was my commute car, but it's been retired from that and now gets driven about twice a week on weekends. It retired at about 190K.
Enough history. It's always started up immediately with one turn of the key.
About 2 or 3 months ago, it started to do the following:
It would start immediately, and within a couple of seconds, would die. Turn the key again, and it would start right up and run fine, everything A-OK. It was warning me, but I ignored it. Now here's the problem, this morning, it started up fine, first time, pulled it out the driveway to enter the street, and it died. I mean died. It cranks, no problem, but will not start. I had to push it back up my driveway and take my current commute mode during the week, my motorcycle.
I've been reading the forums this AM, and it sounds like it could be several things, from fuel filter and fuel pump to ignition coil, or ICM. My question is:
does the startup sequence that began a few months ago help diagnose my problem? Also, there has not been any "check engine" light lit.
If anyone has any ideas as to what's wrong, I would be very grateful.
Thanks to all....
