Icon2 1994 Honda civic Hatch Eg low compression issues

I did a compression test and im coming up with bad compression or i should say lower compression then what I should have. Now I have a rebuild kit for my engine cause I spun a bearing so I'm hoping that in rebuilding it I can restore the proper compression. I'm running a b18c1 vtec with a type r head and gsr cams. Am I heading in the right direction to fixing my problem or are there other things I need to check out?

If you've got a spun bearing, don't bother with compression tests.
Rebuild first, then test and tune the compression.

You don't tune compression. Rebuild to spec and you should have healthy compression.

that's what I meant.
If it's still wrong after the rebuild then you've got some issues

Are you planning on rebuilding it yourself? That doesn't sound like a wise idea.....not to judge, but..........ya. Anyway, how did you diagnose the bearing? You may need a new crank as well, or at the least a polish your crank. Possibly a hone. What does the rebuild kit have with it? new internals, or just new rings, gaskets, ect? Usually when you rebuild the motor; if broken in right, it will be run heathier than ever.

I diagnosed it from experience and my buddy who is ASE certified came and confirmed my theory as far as the status of the crank wont know just how bad it is till i take it apart or at least see it. Haven't decided if I'm gona rebuild it or have my buddy do it. The rebuild comes with oil pump pistons bearings gaskets basically all new internals and gaskets it was about 415$ all together
