1993 Civic VX hatch H22A
Hello H-T. i recently tried to install an external coil on my H22A, spark plug wires i bought were the wrong ones and my friend said i didn't need it anyway, so i just tried to put the old one back on. I connected all wires, i only cut off the two on the previous internal coil, and replaced them. heat shrunk all the wires etc. after trying to start the car it wouldn't start, it would crank, getting spark, checked all plugs, getting gas, all electrical seemed ok. fuel pump turns on and pushes fuel. not a single fuse blown, checked it all. after the first attempt to start the car after i replaced the wires like i found them i heard a puff of air, like a backfire. i payed no attention to this. i just put on a brand new distributor thinking its something in the thing, and tried starting...... nothing. after the second time i heard the puff of air again.... and another cap i had on a previous vacuum line blew off. the first time i guess this is what happened because another cap flew off and was gone as well.... i don't know what the root of the problem is. i didn't do anything to timing, only cut two wires and put them back.. but this still happened with the new distributor i installed so idk. any help would be appreciated, before i have to pay someone to fix it thanks.

Are you sure you put the plug wires on correctly and didn't switch any up because if just 2 are off it wont fire at all. check that your firing order is correct. google search if you need a reference. type h22 firing order and on the side click images.
