Default 1993 civic with 2000 1.6 motor swap egr code

Hello I an new at this so please bear with me. I have a 1993 Honda civic 5 speed with a 2000 SOHC 1.6 motor swap. I am getting a cel when it hits running temp. The codes are vss and egr. It goes in limp mode and run very rich. It will idle at 200 rpm. I currently disconnected the vacuum line from the intake so i can drive the car. It will idle around 1000 rpm with vacuum line unplugged but runs very very rich. I pulled the computer out of the car and ran the model number to find out it is the stock computer. My question is can I install a 2000 civic computer in my car? (I am running obd1) Also do you think this will help my problem? Or can i use the stock computer and trick it where it is not throwing egr code?

no u cannot run a 2000 ecu in ur car as they are obd2. unless u get a jumper harness in which case you will need to wire in a knock sensor and crank position sensor. the ecu u will need is a p28 assuming ur running a motor from an ex(single cam vtec) and not an si(dual cam vtec)
dont know if u have already but u will need to wire in the vtec and a 4wire o2 sensor if ur car didnt originaly come with the z6(also single cam vtec) assuming again that u dont cus z6 dont have egr

look at us ecu and post what one u have if u dont know where it is it's behind the passanger kick panel

ive included apic of an ecu with the code u need to post circled most likely ur code will be p06 if im not mistaken the ecu in the pic is a p61

Thank you for the reply. I got up this morning and pulled the numbers of the computer the numbers are 37820-pt3-a21. I found out that it belongs to a honda accord. I have a D16Y7 motor currently in my civic. The person I bought the car from just pieced this car together I am finding out. So my question is now should I go to a junk yard and pull a 1993 computer? Also my motor dosen't say V-Tec on it? Sorry I am new to tuner cars. Thank you for you help

u have a d16y7 you will need a p06 ecu out of a 92-95 civic fairly common in non-vtec civics so you can usually pick em up at your local junkyard
