Hi, just wanted to let you guys know I am new to the forum and have somewhat fair knowledge in Honda's.

So, I recently picked up a Honda Civic Si, and my brake pedal is spongy. After taking apart and bleeding the brakes, I found out my left front caliper is frozen. The pistons are frozen in place and I couldn't get it to budge.

My question is whether or not to buy a replacement OEM caliper and pads(worn out from previous owner) or replacing front brakes all together for upgrade. The reason is I plan on using the car for Auto Crossing as well as my daily driver and I'm wondering if stock brakes are good enough to be Auto Crossing with.

I've got the complete front knuckles, rotors and calipers removed from my 92 EH3 stuffed with Brembo pads. Mine was ran at the local auto X with these brakes/setup and had no issues.

for general autox you will be hard pressed to overheat the oem brakes on an si. I have run a stock 93 si with oem pads and rotors for years and never ran out of brakes. Also any brake upgrade over stock will bump your car out of the stock class. This includes slotted or xdrilled rotors in most events
