Icon4 1992 Honda Civic Cx hatchback brake lights not working.

Hello all!
New member here, I'll make a long story short, I bought a shell completely stripped down, I picked up a hatchback wire harness and only got running lights and turn signals and reverse lights, my brother bought a new shell (ex coupe) so I took the entire harness from headlight to tail light from a car it all worked in and installed it in my car, but again I only have running lights, turn signals, and reverse but no brakes again. I am at a loss and I have checked everything possible from fuses to wires to everything, I took all fuseblocks and everything I am at a complete loss. I am getting power and ground to the back of the car, but I am only getting power at the. Brake light switch, but not at the floor harness that runs to the back of the car, the wires change from white and blues at the switch to green at the floor harness, I just don't understand how I took a harness from a working car and still have everything ( including power doors now :D ) but rail lights. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Test the pedal switch.

Switch has power and is working as should, tryed 2 known working switches and put a probe on them

Where along the harness downstream of the switch does voltage disappear?

At the floor harness where it runs to the back of the car, but the whole harness was taken from a car it all worked in so wires are good and I double checked all fuses and grounds, but still can't find the issue

Sounds like poor pin contact in the connectors. Inspect for pin damage and also test with a multimeter.

I'll give it a try tomorrow in daylight, it's just weird to have the exact same problem with 2 completely different harnesses

Sometimes car problems seem "weird" until you figure them out.

Well I want to thank you RonJ, after I got home from work this morning and went out again and back tracked and double checked everything again, I was loosing voltage between the brake switch and the floor harness, but hidden behind my wire mess was another connector same color shape and size with the same color wires hiding so I unplugged the break light switch and plugged that one in and now I have all my lights again! Now just to figure out what the other connector was for, but again I want to thank you again for your help as this was my first time posting in forums for help and actually helped me out a lot and plan on coming back for future problems or helping out others with problems I have already have and fixed! Many thanks and highly appreciated~ John S.
